Those three words could have helped me tremendously when I was in the deepest part of my eating disorder. Most of my friends stopped talking to me and my relatives never knew what to say. When people get cancer, someone passes away, or has some type of medical issue we are quick to drop off food, send prayers and thoughts to let them know we are thinking about them, but metal health issues are hushed. I don't recall anyone sending cards, casseroles, or offering help and support to me and my family when they knew I was struggling. It's typically the same with suicides, anxiety, and depression.
"Are are okay?" can make a huge difference in someone's life! Show people you care. Check in on them if your gut thinks something is off! YOU could save a life!
