Wedge Find

I spotted this yesterday during my shopping trip to The Wedge (Natural food coop here in Minneapolis).  I like to buy at least one new item I haven't seen before and this True Nopal Prickly Pear Cactus water looked really interesting since I'm not a big fan of the taste of coconut water.

The prickly pear cactus fruit is the only fruit which contains all 24 known betalains, which are powerful antioxidants known for their skin revitalizing benefits. Drink it to hydrate and revive your skin naturally or when you need a cleanse & detox for your body.  It contains 5 naturally-occurring electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals.  Bonus: It is lower in sugar and calories than nearly all leading coconut water and aloe juice products! And I love the taste- a mix of watermelon/kiwi/berry flavor!

After Dinner Hunger Pains?

8:06 PM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

After dinner for me is sometimes the hardest times of the night! I am a late night snacker through and through. So in the evenings there are a few things that I do to keep myself in check. After dinner I get my mind busy, I call a friend/family member, blog, read a book, go for a walk, paint my fingernails, or watch a movie. Then, I think of the kitchen as closed for the rest of the night, especially if I washed all my dishes. (Other suggestions: family game night, bonfire, or put together a puzzle!)

If I need a snack I choose something light like a plant protein shake, or a small handful of berries. Herbal and peppermint teas help to stave off hunger! Or drink extra water. I literally think of the kitchen as closed and avoid it at all costs. It helps so much!

*Tip: Brush your teeth right after dinner and you will be less likely to snack before bed!
