Tuesday Thoughts

I've been doing lots of reflecting today and realizing that lack of self love is directly related to how we let others treat us. If you don't treat yourself with love and respect, you will let others treat you poorly. What are you tolerating in your current relationships? Treat yourself with love and kindness and it will transfer outward! Do not let someone get comfortable disrespecting you!

Air It Out

6:29 PM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

Opening up the windows can help get toxic air out and let fresh air in. Plants help detoxify the air by converting carbon dioxide into oxygen as well as eliminate many other harmful elements such as benzene and even formaldehyde from the air. For example NASA and ALCA did a study and found that English Ivy is good for removing benzene and Peace Lilies are great for removing formaldehyde. By using safe non-toxic cleaners and adding a few indoor plants you will be maintaining a much healthier household!

Looks Aren't Everything

5:35 PM Jackie Mart 2 Comments

Our world is obsessed with outward appearances: having the perfect body (which doesn't exist: photo-shopping and reconstructing as she demonstrates in the video), newest and cars and toys, biggest houses and paychecks. Sadly some are up to their eyeballs in debt just to keep up with the Joneses.. (Perception) I love this TED video from underwear model, Cameron Russell.  At what length do we sacrifice our sanity just to please and be accepted by those around us? Is it really worth it? In the end what we do and who we are is between us and God.  Are you trying your best to be a good person? Do you get jealous and envious of the things others have you do not? We are all on the same team for greater good. What truly makes you happy?

Quick Tip: Emotional Eating

10:32 AM Jackie Mart 0 Comments

Once you know your specific patterns of emotional eating you can take small steps to redirect them. Do not keep a particularly tempting food in the house, so you would have to leave home after dinner to get a taste. If, for example, you really love ice cream, rather than having it sitting in the freezer calling your name, go OUT for ice cream!
