Transitions

I've always been the type of person that will try anything once! But you have to be if you are an entrepreneur! If something isn't working you need to re-evaluate and do something different! Not everyone understands me or the way I choose to live my life.  You may be going through some of your own transitions, struggles, or challenges.  Maybe your family thinks you are crazy for choosing your passion over a higher-paying job, your sister doesn't think you are raising your kids right, or your so called "friends" think your new business venture is unreasonable?  Keep in mind all that really matters is that YOU are happy!

The world always has something to say about how we should live our lives. What we should eat, what to wear, where to attend college, what career to choose, how to wear our hair, what to purchase: large homes, expensive vehicles, latest technology, extravagant vacations, name brand clothes, and etc.

Try to shut out all the noise and think about what you want your life to look like.  Do NOT let others persuade you into doing something you don't feel is right in your heart.  Every day you can chose to be a different person than you were the day before.  It's your call-do what's best for YOU!

*I will be going through my own transition starting in September.  City life and country living mix here I come!

The World Needs You

"The world needs you, but it is up to you to figure out in what capacity that will be. Be
bold and humble so that you can share your experiences — your failures and your
triumphs — with others in a way that will encourage and transform them. Your voice is
needed as much as mine. Your story can change lives if you let it. Your passions have a
purpose if you spend some time in introspection to find exactly where and how to
combine what brings you joy, what you are good at, and what the world needs you to
share.

Be thankful for your past, for it is a story that can and will change lives if only you let it."

I Feel Ugly Today

If the statement above is in your vocabulary, we need to talk!! If you have been following me for awhile you have probably noticed me mention the term, "self-love."

Self-love by definition is the belief you hold that you are a valuable and worthy person.

When you truly love yourself you are able to excel in all areas of our life. There is massive energy shift when you move from a state of self-hate to self-love.  If you continually put off living your life because you feel unworthy, ugly, fat, or incompetent you are not fulfilling your purpose here on this Earth.  If you are stuck in this place here are a few questions to ask yourself that may spark a little flame inside you:

If you could do anything for the rest of your life regardless of how much money you make, what would you do? (life purpose and passion)

What is your greatest accomplishment in life so far? (increase your self-esteem)

What are you grateful for? (negative to positive mindset shift)

Who is your role model? (try to be more like this person; take action!)

What made you happy when you were seven years old? (this is key to discovering what sets your soul on fire)

Spend time with those who you look up to and do something TODAY that brings you happiness!

Please CONTACT ME if you could use some support, encouragement, accountability, and positivity in your life!

Discounts

Giving and receiving is an energy exchange. This applies to compliments as well. Saying thank you after someone says something nice about you is you receiving and accepting their kind words. Money is also an energy exchange. Don't short yourself by giving out everything for free.

Do not charge less than what you are worth in business. Doing things for free blocks the natural movement of energy and may prevent you from accepting opportunities where you are compensated for your value. People are more apt to associate higher value with products or services they purchase. This also applies to relationships, friendships, and marriages.

When you love yourself and know your worth you will not accept anything less! Let the abundance flow!

Grace

"Forgive yourself for not being superwoman. You can always find ways to help, serve, or contribute. They may not be the most valiant or noteworthy, but they're still helpful.  Give yourself grace to do what you can, where you are, with what you have.  God created billions of other amazing people with gifts and callings; you don't have to carry the entire weight of the world on your own."

The Voice Inside My Head

Every day I walk by this dreaded thing at the gym.. I remember when I weighed myself daily.  If it read 104 pounds I would be happy and it would be a "good" day. When the scale would creep up to 106 or above I would freak out and say horrible things to myself in my head.  I call the voice, "ED".  ED stands for "Eating Disorder." This voice ruled most of my life and still comes back to haunt me some weeks.  It's the evil part of me that likes to show it's ugly head when I'm overly stressed or not feeling very confident in myself and my abilities.

Maybe you have a mean voice as well? Maybe it's stuck on autopilot: "you are fat," "you are worthless," "you are not good enough," "you never do anything right," "you suck at life," "you are disgusting," "you will never amount to anything," "you will never get married,"  "you are a failure"....

The picture below is one of the last slides in my Eating Disorder PowerPoint I give to schools, groups, and organizations. It depicts ED and how he can torture us if we let him.  He's that nasty person on our shoulder whispering FALSE statements into our ears.

I'm here to tell you the voice is lying and it's time to get rid of him! Brush him off, throw him in the back seat, lock up him up; he doesn't belong in your life anymore! You have the strength and power to put up a fight! YOU matter!  Don't let ED or anyone else tell you differently!

Get Back Up

The past few days multiple people have reached out to me because they have been struggling with depression so I felt inclined to share this.

Something I focus on when I'm down-There are two choices: Feeling "above the line" or "below the line." Depression is "below the line." It's not labeled good or bad and it's perfectly ok to be down. You are allowed to stay "below the line" as long as you want: one hour, a day, three days, a week, etc.. Never feel ashamed if you chose any of those options. We are all human and are allowed to feel our feelings. There are weeks I've gone without showering. No joke.... I'm not always happy and upbeat either. I understand and can relate to depression and often have bouts of it myself.

Here are some examples of "above and below the line" feelings:

Above the Line

Energetic
Motivated
Enthusiastic
Strong
Confident
Thriving
Happy
Joyful
Thankful
Grateful
Carefree
Loving
Friendly
Content
Worthy
Victor

____________________________________________

Below the Line

Tired
Unmotivated
Weak
Depressed
Sad
Mad
Upset
Lonely
Complainer
Grumpy
Shameful
Guilty
Jealous
Unworthy
Victim

My goal for you is to do one thing (action) which moves you towards one of the "above the line" feelings. Choose at least one action each day. It can be anything! This could be as simple as getting out of bed and sitting in the sun or making yourself some healthy food.

Choose one action TODAY and follow through! Tomorrow do the same. Remember you are NEVER alone. There are ALWAYS people who care!

Imperfections

"We all have off weeks. You know, weeks of sheer physical exhaustion, lack of motivation and general funk. When I have weeks like this I feel a bit lost and unfamiliar with myself, and it is easy to get discouraged. My instinct tells me to expect more of myself during such weeks, but the reality is that some weeks we must simply expect something different of ourselves, even if we aren’t sure of things as basic as who we are. It’s okay to be tired; fatigue doesn’t mean you aren’t strong. It’s okay feel off-track for a few days and to not be sure what your goal or purpose is; it doesn’t mean that you aren’t searching or that you won’t find it. And, finally, it’s okay -- and actually essential -- that you love yourself during the times when you don’t feel fully yourself. Accept yourself when you least like yourself and you will have begun to accept the imperfection perfections of your human limitations.

The more we love ourselves through our imperfections and through the times when we feel a bit "off," the sooner we will come to embrace our ridiculous imperfections as a beautiful constant in our lives. Be okay with your imperfect beauty and your imperfect story, because being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect; rather, happiness means that you are able to look past the imperfections in your life." - Trish Blackwell
