Your skin needs vitamin C to produce collagen for more elasticity, a smoother appearance and fewer lines. Research has been found that a diet that lacks in this vitamin produces more wrinkles! Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant; it protects skin from the damaging effects of the sun, stress and pollution and helps even out the skin tone. True beauty and radiance starts from the inside out! ;-)

One place where toxins and chemicals linger is in our body care products: makeup, shampoos, hair sprays, lotions, toothpastes, deodorants, shave cream, hair gels, perfume, nail polish, makeup removers, sunscreens, and more!
Women can often be more toxic than men because of how much we slather on ourselves on a daily basis! You should be able to literally EAT what you put on your skin! Our skin is our largest organ and will absorb what we put on it.
Check out this database by the Environmental Working Group called Skin Deep. You can even download an app on your smart phone! You can search the products you are using and it will give the products a rating from 0-10 on how safe they are to use and why. A rating with 0 is the best and 10 is the worst. Click on the links below and check them out!

Skin is the largest organ on the human body. It acts as a shield to the elements, helps with detoxification, protects our tissue and other organs, and even reflects our inner health by showing stress, tension, hormonal imbalances, and nutritional deficiencies. Since it is so important we need to protect it and not slather it with toxins and chemicals day in and day out!
Think about how many toxins you are putting on your skin every day if you use commercialized products: toothpaste, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, face cream, makeup, lotion, perfume, fingernail polish, shave gel, body wash, hair styling products, and the list could go on and on!!!
Here are some great organic gift ideas under $20 from a local company called Organic Aah that I highly recommend. Give the gift of health this holiday season! Your loved ones will thank you! Connact Shannon and tell her Jackie referred you. Click on the links below to view the specific products or go to www.organicaah.com to shop the whole collection.

I think many people don't realize that their skin is their largest organ! What we put on our skin is very readily absorbed. Toxins are lurking in the products you use every day!! Instead of using chemical-laden perfume I use essential oils! You can mix any essential oil with a carrier oil (jojoba, almond, apricot kernal, and etc) and apply it to your skin as a natural fragrance. One of my favorite scents is called "Joyful Spirit" by a local company here in Minneapolis called Wyndmere. It has a citrus note and really cheers me up on cloudy days! If you are wondering how your skin care products rate for health hazards visit the Environmental Working Group's Skin deep website:

I love the SKIN products. They contain only 4 to 10 ingredients including: Free-radical, age-fighting antioxidants, Natural anti-inflammatory nutrients, Certified organic and all-natural ingredients, Premium Essential Oils (powerful antioxidants which detoxify the body and promote
emotional, physical, and spiritual health), and Nourishing & Organic nut, seed, and fruit oils.
Just as important is what they leave out: Harmful chemicals, Parabens (which have been linked to breast cancer), Synthetic dyes and fragrance, Chemical preservatives, Phthalates (a class of chemicals linked to hormonal disruption and birth defects). http://www.realorganicskin.com/index.htmlcskin.com/index.html
