One simple way to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables is to incorporate smoothies into your diet. Making a smoothie every morning as part of a daily routine can dramatically improve your health!
Smoothies are blended drinks that combine leafy greens with fruits, veggies and healthy fats, such as almonds, hemp seeds, flax and coconut. Popular leafy greens include spinach, kale, rainbow or Swiss chard, mint, parsley and collard greens. I prefer to use all fresh, raw ingredients, but using frozen fruit creates a thicker, ice cream-like texture!
Health Benefits of Smoothies:
*Provide you with the full spectrum of nature's bioavailable vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants
*Give you plenty of natural fiber to ensure excellent digestion
*Increase energy
*Weight Loss
*Help empower your immune system to protect you from illness

It’s that time of year again!! Time to think about what we want to change and improve upon in a fresh new year! These goals should be made all year round instead of just when a new year hits! Lifestyle changes are what really need to happen in order for them to last! I was reflecting on the past year and was thinking about what I wanted to do and concentrate on in the upcoming year:
Start a gratitude journal- Write things I am thankful for that day right before I go to bed or something I did well. This will help me focus on the positive things in my life!
Practice self-care weekly- schedule one day a week for myself- watch movie, paint fingernails, take a walk, participate in a class, nap, read a book, get a massage, blog or journal. I have always found it difficult to relax and when I get burnt out my anxiety goes through the roof and my emotions run rampant! This quality "me" time is crucial for me to unwind and re-energize!
Love myself- this goes along with self- care. I plan on doing a thorough cleansing of my mind and body both this year! I am going to start working with a life coach on my past and taking the steps to stop living in the past and create an amazing future for myself. Relationship issues I have had previously have stalled my growth and I would like to clear them so I am more confident and can fully help others like I am destined to!!
One of my friends gave me this gift she made for Christmas. It was the most thoughtful present I have ever received! She knows me well and wants me to realize how truly amazing and beautiful I am both inside and out!!
Wishing you all health, happiness, and prosperity in the New Year!!

Happy 2012 Everyone!!!
My New Years Eve didn't go quite as well as expected but at least I got to spend it with a few great friends! :)
Year end is a time to reflect on the previous year and what we would like to change or do different in the new year. New starts are always refreshing!! New goals will be set and everyone looks forward to the events that will take place. What is your resolution? I would suggest adding something to your life rather than taking it away. Picture what you want your life to look like and focus on it every day!!
This past year I have realized how truly wonderful my family and friends are!! They love me unconditionally even though I have gone through alot of difficult situations the past few years. I am stubborn and can be a pain in the behind, yet they stick by my side no matter what! I am very blessed to have such amazing people in my life!! I have pushed alot of my loved ones away over the years when life was tough. I never knew how much I have been hurting them by being distant until recently. So, this coming year I would like to work on improving and nurturing these relationships that have dwindled. I know I can do it!! :)
Wishing you a safe, happy, and healthy NEW YEAR!!
