"Lessons keep getting harder until we learn from them."
I heard this quote and it really hit home. Sometimes we keep living the same horrendous day over and over and don't learn from our mistakes or make changes. I know my eating disorder was like that. I would starve myself the whole day, then binge and purge at night. Then repeat.
We get into habits that are hard to break. Both good and bad habits are ingrained and hardwired into our brains. Maybe for you it's dating the same type of guy or girl that treats you like crap, ordering more and more stuff you don't need online, avoiding telling you spouse how you really feel, show up to the job you hate every day, and so on...
The pain we endure will continue until we have fully learned our lesson. It will keep showing up in our lives until we stand up and have enough courage to break the cycle. All it takes is standing up for yourself TODAY and then doing the same the next day! I think the hardest part of showing up whole-heartedly in life is worrying about making the wrong decision or upsetting others. The only person you should be living for is yourself. Everything is between you and God or the Universe behind closed doors. If you are not proud of the person you are know you can change and live a completely different life than before! You are not cursed and are strong enough to break the cycle!! I believe in you! <3

I received this drawing from an amazing woman I met a few years ago. She comes to most of my Self Love Sister's Meetup Group events and now I proudly call her my friend! She completed a project for me I have been dreading (imputing hundreds of contacts and email addresses into my Constant Contact Database) and hid this picture inside the folder. Needless to say once I found it I was instantly in tears! I never equated sheets of names and email address to all the lives I've changed! Proof that what we do for others and how we treat them DOES indeed make an impact! How we approach those around us is vital to leaving our footprint in the world --which reminds me of a quote I love from Maya Angelou:
Takeaway: I know I've said this before but I'm going to say it again. Do your part. Spread joy not hate. Treat others how you would want to be treated. Leave a POSITIVE legacy behind you when you go! #bethelight

If the statement above is in your vocabulary, we need to talk!! If you have been following me for awhile you have probably noticed me mention the term, "self-love."
Self-love by definition is the belief you hold that you are a valuable and worthy person.
When you truly love yourself you are able to excel in all areas of our life. There is massive energy shift when you move from a state of self-hate to self-love. If you continually put off living your life because you feel unworthy, ugly, fat, or incompetent you are not fulfilling your purpose here on this Earth. If you are stuck in this place here are a few questions to ask yourself that may spark a little flame inside you:
If you could do anything for the rest of your life regardless of how much money you make, what would you do? (life purpose and passion)
What is your greatest accomplishment in life so far? (increase your self-esteem)
What are you grateful for? (negative to positive mindset shift)
Who is your role model? (try to be more like this person; take action!)
What made you happy when you were seven years old? (this is key to discovering what sets your soul on fire)
Spend time with those who you look up to and do something TODAY that brings you happiness!
Please CONTACT ME if you could use some support, encouragement, accountability, and positivity in your life!

These are the moments I want to remember. I've been reflecting on my life a lot lately. Releasing and cleansing past hurts, negativity and striving each day to show up and be everything I was made to be.
What do you want more of in your life? Time with your family? To explore and do things you have never done? What if I told you you can? Instead of living on everyone else's terms start scheduling your calendar with things you enjoy first and then fill in the rest allowing self love time and relaxation as well!

No matter where you are in your current health journey REMEMBER THIS:
As I spend more and more time at the personal training studio here in Minneapolis I am discovering that self love comes in all shapes, sizes, and walks of life. I have never been around as many hard-working and strong men and women in my life! Every person that walks through the door has a story, a loss, a struggle, a challenge to overcome. I've been working out next to clients who give 110% each session! They empower me to hit harder, move faster, and push myself to my own limits!
"It is a haven for real people – with real goals – to come and feel no judgment, no insecurity, and no shame. It’s an energizing escape overflowing with positivity and humility. It’s a place filled with thoughtful trainers and teammates who value individuality, recognize unique needs, and help each other achieve goals and celebrate great results.
The environment: No mirrors, just a focus on fitness." - Bodies By Burgoon
I also came across this blog post today. It is a positive and inspirational display of self-confidence, strength, accomplishment, and body lovin'! Please take the time to read it! She is a positive role model and reminds me of all the beautiful souls who train at Bodies By Burgoon!

You are a powerful role model for you daughter. Be sure to teach her to love herself unconditionally! Don't go on "diets", trash talk your body in the mirror, or starve yourself! You are the example: eat healthy, exercise, and take care of your own body. She will follow your lead and direction. Eating disorders are real and anyone can develop one throughout their lifetime. Watch for warning signs! I meant to post this last week for Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
